Rajgir
Ancient Valley of Kings & Holy Stupas
Surrounded by seven sacred hills, where Buddha preached and Mahavira spent monsoons.
About Rajgir
Nestled in a verdant valley flanked by seven rocky hills, Rajgir (ancient Rajagriha) was the first capital of the powerful Magadha Empire. Both Gautama Buddha and Lord Mahavira lived and preached here. The chairlift ropeway gently glides over lush forest canopies to the gleaming white marble Vishwa Shanti Stupa perched atop Ratnagiri hill.
Why We Include Rajgir in Our Circuits
Rajgir combines scenic hill country with two millennia of spirituality. The panoramic view of the Magadha plains from Vulture’s Peak, where the Lotus Sutra was first delivered, is breathtaking.
